This page will develop over time with the questions that the moderators get asked most commonly.

There has been a huge number of questions recently and these are the most common: Got problems - read these before sending a message to the moderators please.

Why do I have to fill in my profile, I've put a picture on isn't that enough?
There are over 700 members in our organisation and sorry the moderators don't know all of you. So while some people might know who you are from the photo the vast majority of us don't. Please provide your actual name, your SLANZA region and your school name and if you want to add a bit more in the interests of friendliness and community mindedness then please do. Maybe make friends with some of your colleagues as well.

Why can't I find my profile?
Probably because it has been removed. People who don't fill in their profile are put into a 'holding' area. Before this happens you are sent at least three messages asking you to do it. If you still haven't done it you are removed. You can be reinstated very quickly, message Bridget or Miriam and do the profile immediately.

I posted on the wiki and can't see my post.
Hit your refresh button and the page will reload with your post on it.

Where is ...?
Please use the Search box to search through both pages and discussion threads on the wiki. You should do a Search before starting a discussion, to check whether there may be an existing discussion you can join, or whether you will need to start a new thread.

I can't see the edit button to do my profile
Are you logged in? You can't edit anything unless you are, including your profile.

I'm logged in and I'm still having problems
Another thing to check is that you aren't using Internet Explorer 5 or 6. The wiki no longer supports this browser. We suggest you update to a more recent version, or use an alternative like Firefox. (This is likely to be a persistent problem if you don't keep your browser updated.)

I'm not a member of SLANZA can I join this wiki?
Sorry no, this is for members only. You can visit the SLANZA website for information on how to join our organisation. We do check the records to make sure that the members of the wiki are SLANZA members and sorry but we will remove you if you aren't a member, but we will warn you first.

I've lost my password - help please
Just type in with your username and click the I've forgotten my password and a new password will be sent to your email.

I don't know my username
Sorry, you will have to figure it out. Search the members list for likely ones. The moderators can't help you with this one. Another reason for using a variation of your actual name. It might help if you can remember when you joined because the members are in the order that people signed up.

I want to change my username
Your username is attached to your email. Unless you change your email address for the new one, you can't change the username. Please use some combination of your actual name, and fill in your profile.

Why has my name disappeared from the list of members?
It means you didn't fill in your profile. On the 1st of April all those who had not completed their profiles were moved off this wiki into a 'holding zone called Banned Members. To get back on you will have to contact Miriam or Bridget. It isn't difficult to get you back on but you may have to wait a little while.
